The story so far
My latest writing project is out and about. My publisher decided to create an anthology to showcase the Cozy Cat Press authors. “Cozy Cat Shorts” has over 300 pages of short stories by 24 authors. I wrote a new Sandy Fairfax mystery, “The Puzzling Puppet Show Caper.” I got the idea while watching a DVD of “The Muppet Show” and thinking Sandy would have made a great guest star on that show. So in my story I put him on a children’s TV show where the puppeteers have murder up their sleeves.
The anthology is available in print and ebook on Amazon.com. I’ll be posting the book cover and buy links soon.
I also took part in the second annual Local Author’s Fair at the Camarillo Library, an opportunity for writers to display and sell their books. Plenty of creativity in this area. I meet a number of other authors and even bought a book or two myself. I particularly liked the woman who had written a book about tea ceremonies and actually served hot tea at the fair.
If you check back in a few weeks, you’ll see a whole new website. Sometimes adversity will spark creativity. My site host recently emailed me to say my webpage was being moved onto a new server. As a result, the page crashed and all I had was a blank page with an error message!
After the site host did nothing to fix the problem, my web designer came to the rescue. She recovered the site and updated it. The site had been hacked some time ago—something the hosting service should have noticed—so she added new security. BTW, I’ll be moving the site to another hosting service once the current contract is up.
The old site needed some TLC. I had set up the blog when I only had one book published. But four books, one group novel and three short stories later, the original intent behind the site no longer met my needs. Just as a house needs remodeling to accommodate a growing family, I will revamp the site for all of my published works.
In 2018 I plan to release the first book of a new cozy mystery series. I’m on the third draft now. I’ll post more about this on the site once I finished the novel.
So stay tuned! Some great things are ahead for 2018.
